Hello... In October 2008, I assumed the position of Station Manager at WKHS. I have been the station engineer for over 20 years (since 1989) and am also a KCHS graduate (Class of 1984). During high school, I began my broadcasting career at WCTR-AM as a part-time DJ (and years later as a contract station engineer). While attending college (1987), I worked at WMDT-TV as a Master Control Operator and then landed my first Chief Engineer position at WLVW / WQHQ (thanks Ron J.). In 1989, I was the Director of Engineering for Clark Broadcasting (WCEI-AM/FM) where I worked for Jim Hammond- the original Station Manager for WKHS (1974-81). Later that year, I assumed the Chief Engineer role at WKHS as a part-time contractor and have maintained this position to present day. I have held engineering positions at various radio stations in MD/DE over the past 25 years including WHVY-FM / WYRE-AM, WGAY-FM / WWRC-AM, WDSD-FM / WDOV-AM, WCTR-AM, WCEM-FM / WCEM-AM / WTDK-FM / WAAI-FM, WINX-FM. In 1996, I transitioned to the sales side of the Broadcast Industry and worked for several manufacturers and distributors (Northeast Broadcast Labs, Harris-Intraplex, S.C.M.S.) selling equipment to radio stations all over the country- many of which I had the opportunity to visit. Throughout all of the many experiences that I had in the Industry, one thing has remained constant... my relationship with WKHS. "Not only am I a part of 90.5 WKHS... it's also a part of me". I am very proud of our station's 37 year heritage and look forward to taking the station and Broadcasting Program into the future. As the Broadcasting Industry is rapidly changing, we are also making changes both on the air and on the website including the addition of podcasts created by the students and regular updates of station events in the community. Please email us with any questions or comments... wkhsradio@gmail.com
Outside of WKHS, my interests include spending time with my family, playing music and Amateur Radio. I hold three FCC licenses including a General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL), a Restricted Class Radiotelephone Operator's Permit and an Extra Class Amateur Radio License (KE3MC).
